RISING HIDDEN BOUNDARIES IN THE NATION IN THE NAME OF STATES!

Reservations in India are undeniable and unavoidable. But the allotment of reservations on which grounds are always debatable. Reservation is must for certain grounds to ensure the fairness of the competition. Such grounds are based on caste, race and economical conditions.

But there arises a new form of reservation in some states in India which paved for stormy debates among public, Judiciary institutions and mainly in the core concept of the constitution of India. The issue is the reservation based on the state you live. Yes!!

States like Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh have passed bills in their state legislature ensuring"75% reservation to the state's local residents in private sector jobs" and recently Haryana also tried to join the team but the decision was quashed by the State's High Court. What do you feel about this law? Is it fair? Is it good for the country?

The respective parties are claiming that other state people are taking away their jobs. Is it a reason? Then what do you mean by globalization? Survival of the fittest is the core concept of employment. If everyone stays in their native, does the economy grows?

The core reason behind such clueless policies are

  • Electoral manifestos by the parties that they are safeguarding their state.
  • To attract voters by using the word of reservation.
Core problems arising due to such policies are
  • An invisible boundary inside the nation and making no meaning for the word ' Indian '
  • Lack of skilled labors for a specific task in the state
  • Major threat to the livelihood of workers from less industrialized regions.
  • Investments in the state goes down fearing of the quality of labors
  • Brain drain due to lack of opportunities in the country
  • Lack of interest among students to explore outside world and develop skills, taking the employment as guaranteed in the state.
Some of the solutions for this issue
  • Increase the skills of the students and workforce to compete with anybody.
  • Attract more investments in the state by providing a peaceful business environment
  • Welcome outsiders also, to increase the importance and popularity of the state and thus increasing tourism revenue.
           Think of a situation if
  • Gulf countries implement such reservations in their oil refineries.
  • USA, UK, Malaysia and Singapore also done the same in their IT sector
What does the large Indian community depends on them will do?
So think wisely, please don't divide the country in the name of regionalism........
